Topic of the Keynote: “Adapting and Applying the DeLone and McLean Information Success Model to Evolving IT Systems”

William DeLone is a Professor Emeritus of Information Technology at the Kogod School of Business at American University in Washington DC and Co-Founder of the Kogod Cybersecurity Governance Center. He served as Kogod’s Acting Dean, Senior Associate Dean, Dean of Graduate Programs and Chair of the Information Technology Department.  

 Dr. DeLone's research includes assessing information systems and social media systems effectiveness, digital governance, and manager acceptance of Artificial Intelligence applications. He has been published in various information systems journals including Information Systems Research, Management Information Systems Quarterly, the Journal of Management Information Systems, the Journal of the Association of Information Systems, the European Journal of Information Systems, IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, the Journal of information Technology, the Communications of the ACM, MIS Quarterly Executive, DataBase, the International Journal of Electronic Commerce, and Information Technology & People. His most recent article, entitled “Measuring the Success of Social Information Systems: an assessment of past contributions and a guide for future research,” is available online at the European Journal of Information Systems.

Professor DeLone has lectured and consulted on information systems at universities in London, Paris, Rome, Venice, Warsaw, Galway, Singapore, Kuwait, Leipzig & Saarbrucken in Germany, and Guatemala.

Dr. O'Reilly is an innovation facilitator, thinker and doer.

 

He is currently Chair of the Digital Transformation Lab, Co-Director of the Innovation through Design Thinking Postgraduate Diploma at UCC, Director of the Practitioner Research Seminars Series, and a member of the global lecturing panel at the Irish Management Institute.

 

He has 30 years of experience working on and leading innovation and research projects across a range of industries, including finance, engineering, education and healthcare. He has guided individuals and teams in EMC, Dell, IBM, Google, Facebook, Central Bank, Bank of Ireland, AIB, etc.

Previously, he was Director of Innovation & Research for a UK-headquartered technology company.

In 2011 he was awarded a PhD for action-based research into organizational innovation management

​  Dr. Denis Dennehy is a Professor of Information Systems & Sustainability at the School of Management, Swansea University. He is School Research Lead, and Director of the Digital Futures for Sustainable Business & Society research group. His research primarily focuses on the mediating role of information systems and analytics, and its implications for teams, organisations, and society. His research is informed through in-depth engagement with organisations such as the Kepak Group, Intel, Dell Technologies, SMEs and NGOs. These research projects have been funded by UKRI, MASI, Erasmus+, Science Foundation Ireland, Irish Aid, and Enterprise Ireland.

 His research has been published in premier IS conferences and leading journals including Information & Management,  Journal of Business Research, Information Systems Frontiers, Business Strategy and the Environment, International Journal of Operations & Production Management, and European Journal of Operational Research. He also publishes in practitioner-oriented outlets such as HBR Magazine, Cutter Business Technology Journal, and IEEE.

 He is co-editor-in-chief of Communications of the Association for Information Systems, and senior editor of Information Technology and People. He has chaired several international conferences and edited special issues related to his field. He is a Distinguished Member – Cum Laude of the AIS and is a recipient of the AIS Sandra Slaughter Service Award for 2023, an international award that recognises longstanding members who have provided leadership within the AIS.

Head of Innovation Strategy and Policy, Welsh Government

 

Tom is the Welsh Government’s lead for healthcare innovation policy and led the development of the Health and Social Care component of Wales Innovates: the 2023 Welsh Government Innovation strategy for Wales. Tom is also the Government’s co-design and funding lead for a range of multi-million pound innovation programmes such as Health Technology Wales, the Bevan Commission, Accelerate and AgorIP.

 

Tom recently spent two years on secondment with Aneurin Bevan University Health Board as Assistant Director of Innovation, where he developed a new approach to Innovation for the organisation during the Covid-19 pandemic. This included the 2021 NHS Wales Covid-19 Innovation and Transformation Study, for which he won a 2022 Swansea University Research and Innovation awards for an Outstanding response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

 

Tom is an Honorary Innovation Fellow with the University of South Wales and is currently finalising his PhD in Innovation & Transformation with Swansea University.
